Building a VMware Private Cloud with NetApp HCI | NetApp | Integrate
Your users need you to be more responsive, but when your hardware is keeping you from responding quickly, you look like the big roadblock. With development teams reminding you every day that they can get resources from the public cloud immediately, you are pressured to bridge the gap. VMware Private Cloud for NetApp HCI delivers a win-win option by enabling public cloud-like self-service via vRealize Suite that can drive dynamic usage of infrastructure resources including NSX on NetApp HCI, a flexible yet performant and scalable hybrid cloud infrastructure. HCI is the fastest growing infrastructure market segment and it is no wonder with its typical administrative advantages.  However, NetApp HCI also gives you enterprise features you need like multi-tenancy, independent scaling of resources for real world workload optimization and application performance guarantees.   Come to this session to learn how to build a VMware's modern private cloud feature set on top of NetApp HCI that delivers users with easy, predictable results at cloud speed and IT with complete configuration, monitoring, and bill-back capabilities.

Avoiding the Zombie Apocalypse: Becoming an Information Security Ally | VMware
As IT teams look to provide more flexible technology platforms and services for their companies, they often neglect to include - until way too late - their information security counterparts. This omission can lay waste to projects, timelines, and deliverables and lead to a splintering of factions that should be working together to protect a company. Understanding the underlying motivations behind your infosec team's questions and objections can help you avoid missteps and delays, engender a better collaborative working relationship, and give you an ally when you need it most. Attendees will leave the session with a better working knowledge of what security teams want to know, why they want to know it, and the best way to communicate that information. An effective and practical set of action items will be outlined to take back to assist in becoming a partner with security teams versus an adversary. Introduction: - Speak to the different components that make up an average infosec group's responsibilities - Describe the evolution of security challenges and postures
    - Architecture: On-premises | Hosted | Private Cloud | Public Cloud - Growth of threat actors and compliance requirements - Explain where this fits in with typical virtualization, network, compute teams What's in it for me?: - You'll learn the lingo and the security drivers that will make you and your teams more effective when interacting with security teams. - Discuss terms - High level architecture view from an infosec perspective - You'll gain perspective on how to prioritize requests for assistance. - How to frame requests in a way that security teams understand - You'll have a better understanding of what your security team wants from you. - Outline how a proactive approach can build stronger ties to security. - You'll reduce your chances of being the weak link. Becoming an Ally: - Best ways to start changing the relationship with information security teams
      - Knowledge sharing - Knowledge transfer - Start adopting a security-first/security-inclusive mindset - Measure improvements internally and between teams

Cloudy with Chance of Data Re-use: How Modern Backup Serves all Your Business Needs | IBM Storage | Integrate
The number one use-case for cloud is backup. Why? Because it’s simple and easy. It gives organizations a cost-effective method to have the data more "on-line" than a traditional tape solution, which means better RTOs. In addition, when using solutions such as IBM Cloud Object Storage with WORM capabilities, you can build in cyber resiliency for your data and gain better recovery times in the event of a disaster or cyberattack. In addition, backup is no longer just an "insurance policy." Protection, Copy Data Management and Data Re-use are today's modern ways to leverage backup data for multiple purposes. As organizations look to what's next with their backup environment and consider moving to a more modern data protection infrastructure, they need to look at reducing costs, both CapEx and OpEx. Learn how to meet all your data protection objectives by attending our session and visiting our table. We’ll show you how you can unlock the value of your backup data, reduce costs and do more with less.

VMware AppDefense: What's Been Hiding in Your Applications? | VMware
Most administrators are confident they know exactly what is running in their datacenter applications. Regardless of this confidence, attacks continue to happen with no understanding of the way these behaviors appear. This has put administrators and developers into a defensive position instead of being proactive. With VMware AppDefense, you will be able to see every process and behavior running in your datacenter applications, creating a least privilege security model. By gaining this level of visibility, you will have full knowledge of what is happening in your applications and what behaviors do not belong. Join me as I walk you through a demonstration of AppDefense and some of the behaviors and processes it can learn and report against.
