99 Problems but an End of Life vSphere Upgrade with VMware HCX Ain't One | VMware | CORE
There are still plenty of customers running end of life vSphere versions like 5.x and 6.0. Upgrading in place to the latest vSphere versions of 6.5 or 6.7 can require multiple hops. The interoperability between VMware and 3rd party products, the need for minimal to no downtime, and planning for rollback can add more complexity to an already complicated process. Traditionally VMware HCX is positioned as a workload mobility solution for cloud migrations, but it can also be used to migrate off of older vSphere versions. We will guide you through the customer journey in demo form, from an end of life vSphere environment to a supported vSphere version removing the complexity of a traditional in-place upgrade. Also providing minimum to no downtime and a simplified rollback plan that can be part of the customer maintenance window.

Malware, Ransomware , X-Ware – Why Backup and DR are not sufficient | VMware | EMERGING
Mobile Workers, Remote Offices, Cloud, 100 Million+ IoT devices, and high Speed Internet contribute to expanding the attack surface of the modern enterprise. Cryptocurrencies, misconfigurations and powerful exploits, along with difficulty in identifying and prosecuting criminals, have led to bolder attacks with higher ransoms. Businesses are collateral damage in cyber warfare. Ransomware and destructive attacks are now more likely to affect a business than an act of nature. These factors present new challenges for the security team to guard against, driving them to work with infrastructure teams to create a new cyber resiliency capability enabling recovery from the inevitable successful attack. In this session we will explore new and emerging threats, discuss why existing processes are insufficient and describe the new tools and processes from Dell Technologies, uniquely positioned to help recover from these attacks.
